The Good Girls

The Good Girls is a great site. From the site: “We are mothers, wives, partners, professionals, buddies, confidants. Some of us have kids, some of us have parents, but at one time or another, we are all daughters. We were told to be good—whatever that might be. We make mistakes along with triumphs. We are not perfect, and not always good; but we are all beautiful, strong, cool, awesome, wacky, sensual beings. These are our stories.”

dooce

A site about women’s websites wouldn’t be complete without dooce.com. I have nothing but admiration for Heather B. Armstrong, it is in my opinion one of the best women’s blogs out there. I could spend hours on dooce, it is open and honest and all about real life, better than any reality show.

My husband was recently relieved of his employment for putting something in an email, had he been a dooce reader maybe he would have been aware of the power of the written word. Nowadays it is so important to think before you put anything out there electronically, it can always come back to bite you.  As I sit here thinking about the power of the written word and it coming back to bite me, I have no more I can say about my current situation, which is why I admire Heather B. Armstrong so much for having the guts to put her life out there and speak her mind. Her job is based on speaking her mind because she created her job to suit her life, while many of us have to choose our words very carefully, or you could lose everything just for speaking your mind.
